An Independent Medical Examination (IME) is an impartial, third-party medical assessment of a worker's injury or illness. The report helps identify the cause of the injury or illness, how far it is work-related, the worker's capacity for pre-injury and future employment, and their need for ongoing treatment.
IMEs are often required when existing information about a workplace injury or illness is inadequate, inconsistent or undetermined. Evaluate Medicolegal's consultants prepare IME reports for workers' compensation insurers and scheme agents, law firms and other parties, and can include a workplace assessment to better understand the demands of the worker's role.
